Friday was the last day that Applebee’s was open in Davis before it closed it’s doors forever. This leaves IHOP as the last major national chain restaurant left in all of Yolo county, as long as you don’t count Redding-based Black Bear Diner. Fast food restaurants left in Yolo county are Wingstop, Taco bell, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and Panda Express. One Davis resident says “it’s just Davis being Davis”, as the city is known for local farm to fresh restaurants. Employees of the Davis Applebee’s were offered jobs at the Natomas, Vacaville, and Woodland locations.
