Breaking Bud is clearly in reference to “Breaking Bad”, which is produced and distributed by Sony. According to the Sacramento Business Journal, the company is suing for trademark infringement among other things. Additionally, they are asking that Knee Deep refrain from using the Breaking Bud name and logo design.
