In 2015, multiple brands of crayons tested positive for traces of asbestos, according to CBS. However, this year just one brand in the study tested positive—Playskool. Playskool crayons are found on Amazon and at Dollar Tree. They were found to contain tremolite fibers, which is a kind of asbestos.

A Dollar Tree spokesperson claimed that all children’s products are tested by independent sources and meet legal safety standards. Additionally, a spokesperson for Hasbro said the company will investigate the claims of asbestos in their Playskool crayons.

There were some other items at Dollar Tree that also tested positive for harmful chemicals. These include Jot blue three-ring binders and dry erase markers made by Expo and The Board Dudes.
