Bill Cosby had a very bad day in court today when he received his sentence from the judge…

According to TMZ, the disgraced comedian began his day in court with a major setback. The judge ruled that Cosby will be classified as a “sexually violent predator.”

While his lawyers fought on Monday to prevent the label, they did not succeed. This means that the 81-year-old will now appear in the sex-offender registry. He will also have to attend lifetime counseling and report quarterly to authorities, TMZ reports.

However, the bigger ruling at Tuesday hearing was that Bill Cosby will go to prison for sexually assaulting Andrea Constand.

The judge ruled that he will serve three to ten years, and he also denied the comedian bail. He said during the sentencing:

“I’m not permitted to treat him any differently based on who he is or who he was.”

Before the hearing, some thought Cosby would receive a much lighter sentence, due to his age and failing eyesight. Some even expected that Cosby would only get house arrest for his crime.
