Not only is Blake Shelton a country legend, but he’s also willing to give back to his roots.

According to Nash Country Daily, Shelton recently donated $50,000 to his hometown of Tishomingo, Oklahoma.

The money is going toward upgrading the city’s popular Pennington Park, which provides RV hookups, camping, fishing, and more. Specifically, the money will fund improvements to the park’s splash pad and add additional water features.

The donation, which is in partnership with Ryman Hospitality Properties, came after a weekend of pop-up shows at the restaurant Ole Red Tishomingo. Shelton actually opened the place back in 2017, and he spoke about his recent time there, saying:

“It’s always fun to play your hometown and now that we have Ole Red in Tishomingo, we can pop up and play anytime. We played a lot of music, had fun and raised money for Pennington Park. Now that’s a good time!”

It’s good to know that even though he’s rich and famous, Blake Shelton is still a really nice, giving guy.
