Blake Shelton may be dating pop star Gwen Stefani, but that doesn’t mean he knows her music very well.
According to Taste of Country, the country singer made a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
While Shelton was only on the show to promote his new song, Fallon managed to rope him into a game of “Name That Song.”

In the game, Jimmy Fallon’s house band, The Roots, begin playing popular songs one instrument at a time. The players then have to be the first person to correctly guess the song to win the round. Shelton started the game off weakly by missing two country songs: Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” and Willie Nelson’s “On The Road Again.”
However, his biggest mistake came when Gwen Stefani’s smash hit, “Hollaback Girl,” began to play. Although Fallon and Shelton were initially both at a loss, Fallon eventually realized that Shelton was making a big mistake by not knowing it. Before correctly naming the song, he joked to the audience:
“All I know is that Blake is in a lot of trouble right now.”
Shelton also recognized his mistake, but he was quick to fire back:
“I came to this show to promote my album and I’m losing everything.”
In the end, however, Blake Shelton won the winner-takes-all song, “Footloose.” Unfortunately, we feel like that might not be enough to make it up to Stefani…
