Carrie Underwood and Zach Swon of the Swon Brothers go way back. More than you probably knew!
The two attended Northeastern State University in Oklahoma. They both participated in a school show, and they even took a country music theater class together. Zach told Taste of Country:
“The class was so small. Tt was a night class, and there was probably only eight people in it.”
Due to the small class size, each person agreed to bring dinner for everyone on Tuesdays when they met. Zach said:
“Carrie worked at a place called Sam and Ella’s Pizza, and it was awesome; it was right there by campus. So … every time it was her turn, that’s what she would bring into the class.”
And what did Zach usually bring?
“What I really got famous for was Arby’s bags. I would literally just go and buy tons of roast beef and cheddar sandwiches.”
Carrie later dropped out of college three units short of graduating when she appeared on American Idol in 2004. She then graduated magna cum laude in 2006 after winning on the show.
