You can buy this eerie Central California ghost town (for me, hopefully)! That’s if you have a million dollars laying around. The 19th-century mining town of Cerro Gordo, in the Inyo Mountains outside of Lone Pine, was just listed for $925,000, KCRA reports.

The property sits on 300 acres and includes almost two dozen well-preserved buildings. There’s a church, saloon, historic hotel called the Belshaw Bunkhouse, hoist house, and superintendent’s house.Β The town was well-protected from diggers over the years, and many artifacts from the area are housed in a museum. Cool!

πŸ˜βš’ Cerro Gordo provides the rare opportunity to own your own ghost town and mining operation! For those looking to acquire a piece of American West, Cerro Gordo is for you. The townsite has 24,000 square feet of buildings remaining, including the incredibly historic hotel, the Belshaw bunkhouse, hoist house, and the superintendent's house (nearly 22 buildings in all). The property expands over 300 acres of patented mining claims. Held by the same family for decades and only available for purchase now, the site has been extremely well protected from diggers, artifact looters, and Mother Nature herself. Restoration has been undertaken on most of the buildings, and the rest are in a state of protected, arrested decay. πŸ˜βš’β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” #ghosttown #ghosttownforsale #cerrogordo #forsale #cerrogordomine #inyo #inyocounty #bishopca #lonepine #lonepineca #owensvalley #california #easternsierra #mine #explore #realestate #realty #realtor #bishoprealestate #oldmine #desert #propertyforsale
