Facebook Announces Plans To Remove This Feature Next Week

The Facebook trending section is getting the ax next week—which is ironically trending on said social media platform. If you didn’t know, the trending section is on the right-hand side of your homepage. You just scroll down a little and you can see what stories are the most popular at that time.
Facebook introduced the trending section in 2014, but apparently not many people use it. According to Business Insider, it only accounts for 1.5% of clicks. However, as someone who blogs everyday, I use it a lot.
“We will remove Trending from Facebook next week. And we will also remove products and third-party partner integrations…,” said Facebook’s head of news products.
Apparently they are trying out some new ideas for news, but nothing that will launch immediately.
