Oh boy. I already know my time spent on Instagram is going to be way too high. Mostly because my iPhone already tells me I spent 47% of my time on my phone on the app the past seven days. Hopefully the amount of minutes I waste on it will help me break my addiction. Because I fully acknowledge it is a thing.

Facebook is implementing these new dashboards, called Your Activity on Instagram and Your Time on Facebook, over the next few weeks. The company has been working with mental health experts to help with the digital obsession in the world according to a blog. It’s one thing to acknowledge the problem, and another to try to do something about it. I mean, I spent nearly two years writing about Facebook and it’s role in relationships in grad school. But, I still fall victim to it.

You’ll be able to set a time limit for yourself on both Facebook and Instagram. And when you reach that time during the day, you’ll get an alert. See, I need something that then blocks me from logging back in for the rest of the day. Does that exist yet?
