A 67-year-old man is spending eight months in jail for using an illegal laser jammer to avoid speeding tickets.
The North Yorkshire Police reported that Timothy Hill was easy to find. Not only did he have the jammer, but he drove a distinctive car with custom plates.
Well, and he also flashed his middle finger at the speed cameras on three separate occasions.
According to Fox News, the head of traffic enforcement for North Yorkshire said after the sentencing:
“If you want to attract our attention, repeatedly gesturing at police camera vans with your middle finger while you’re driving a distinctive car fitted with a laser jammer is an excellent way to do it.”
Timothy initially denied accusations that the video footage was of him. However, he later confessed to the crime and said that he even threw his laser jammer into a river to hide the evidence. He pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice.
Funny enough, he didn’t get charged for speeding because his device successfully prevented police from confirming his driving speed.
