Michael Ray was arrested by police in December for a DUI. After further investigation, the charges have been reduced to reckless driving.

The Orlando Sentinel reports police error is the cause of the changed status. The officers didn’t give Michael proper instructions for sobriety testing at the time. They also never told the singer about their criminal investigation on him, and the body-cam footage was never shared.

The accident happened on December 20. Michael hit the car in front of him at a McDonald’s drive-thru. The original reports claims he “had bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and he stumbled while walking and smelled of alcohol.”

Police found a bottle of brown liquid in his car, which Michael confirmed was his weed oil. He is therefore still being charged for felony marijuana possession.

Michael was taken to Lake County jail on a $6,000 bail that night. No word yet on when his hearing will take place.
