Someone is now $50,000 richer thanks to a superb pallet that was able to detect the flavor of the Mystery Oreo. And now that it is revealed, I am glad I didn’t try it. It is a cereal flavor and one that I hated as a kid.

FRUITY PEBBLES

Now, apparently a bunch of reviewers mentioned this early on in the game.

Grubstreet lists the following outlets and their correct guesses:

• Food & Wine: “The results were almost unanimously ‘Fruity Pebbles.’”
• Refinery29: “Our noses were hit with a sweet scent we associate with a bowl of Froot Loops or Fruity Pebbles.”
• Today show: “Many people think it tastes like some kind of fruit-flavored cereal, à la Fruity Pebbles or Fruit Loops.”
• The Daily Meal: “Fruity Pebbles and Fruit Loops were among the most popular answers.”
•  Delish: “Fruity Pebbles was the unanimous decision.”

Now, you might have tried the Mystery Oreo, but did you guess it’s flavor correctly?

Apparently six people did and they are cashing in on it. Unfortunately, I’m not sure if they have to share the prize or if they all get $50,000.

So, I know a lot of people love Fruity Pebbles, but I don’t. And, it just doesn’t sound good between two chocolate wafers. Did you try the Mystery Oreo? Did you like it? Was Fruity Pebbles your first guess?
