Sacramento Music Festival Suspended After A 44-Year Run

By Admin on December 19, 2017

It’s official: The Sacramento Music Festival will not return for a 45th year in 2018.

Due to an abundance of festivals and changing demographics, the annual Memorial Day celebration is suspended.

Better Times For The Sacramento Music Festival

According to the Sacramento Business Journal, the festival brought in 100,000 people in the early 1990s. As a result of the factors above, those numbers dwindled to just over 20,000.

Mike Testa, CEO of Visit Sacramento commented on the suspension of the music festival. He called it was “a loss for the merchants in Old Sacramento.”

Additionally, he said the festival is a big financial commitment that relies on partners.
