Technically restaurants since Mikuni has multiple locations. But, the beloved sushi spot offered up the Rescue Roll for one day only yesterday, and the people of Sacramento bit…literally. Which is awesome, because all of the proceeds from every roll is going to help out victims of the recent wildfires.

The Rescue Roll first made its debut in 2011 after the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. Then, they launched it again after the floods in Houston.

CEO Taro Arai told KCRA, “We love helping the community because without community I’m not here either. So, least we can do to give back. I believe in paying it forward…we just want to do it because there are people struggling out there.”

By 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, the nine Mikuni locations had sold more than 1,500 rescue rolls.
