Sacramento Unified Has One Month to Cut $24 Million

Wow! As if we didn’t already have completely full classrooms and underpaid teachers, the Sacramento Unified School district is being forced to cut $24 million from next year’s budget in a matter of four weeks!  For the first time in the district’s history, the Sacramento County Office of Education disapproved their budget, citing an “ongoing structural deficit problem” and an increase in “unrestricted expenditures” despite revenues remaining relatively stable.
