San Francisco just scored a butt load of cool points from me. On Tuesday, supervisors of the city voted in favor of a fur ban which will start the first of next year.

Details On The San Francisco Fur Ban

It applies to anything that has real fur, including key chains and gloves. Stores will be able to hold on to current inventory until January 1, 2020.

However, stock must be gone by that date. Additionally, vintage and secondhand stores are not subject to the ban.

KCRA says that around 50 stores will be affected by the new legislation. San Francisco fur sales account for at least $40 million a year.

Don’t get me wrong, losing that money will impact people and that sucks. But, I am all about animal welfare and don’t wear real fur or leather.

West Hollywood and Berkeley are the only other cities in California to enact a fur ban.

What do you think of this new legislation?
