The Science Behind Hearing Laurel Or Yanny [LISTEN + WATCH]

A new dress debate is sweeping the internet, and it makes me wanna flip a table! This time it’s an audio clip. The original post asks if you hear the name “Yanny” or “Laurel.” And yes, chaos has ensued. My timelines are seemingly 50/50.
I only hear Laurel, but a handful of friends say Yanny. So what is it? Both. A YouTuber explained it’s both names layered on top of each other in different frequencies. Basically, depending on what pitches you hear best, you’ll hear one or the other or possibly both! Whoa.
