Scotty McCreery tells his fiancée, Gabi Dugal, everything. When he was working on “This Is It,” a song for her, he had to fib a little.
Scotty started preparing the song about two weeks before he planned to propose to Gabi. He joked with Entertainment Tonight:
“Luckily she said yes or else the song probably wouldn’t have made the record.”
Scotty admitted that he lied a little in order to keep the song a secret:
“She always wants to hear the songs the day I write them. That day, I had to tell her, ‘Oh, we didn’t get anything today. We couldn’t wrap our heads around anything.’ I had to keep that one a secret for a while.”
The two are getting married later this year. Although they aren’t talking about having kids just yet, they are definitely thinking about dogs:
“She wants a lab and I want a little English Bulldog. I’m going between Brady and Elvis for the names for the bulldog.”
