So, Victorville, CA is currently experiencing a takeover. Some would even call it an invasion. The Southern California town is full to the brim with giant tumbleweeds.

The dried out balls measure around three to four feet each. It seems like a weird thing to worry about. But, the desert balls are piling up thanks to the 50 MPH wind in the area.

“There is no stopping them,” resident Martinez-Brown told the LA Times. “They pile up 5 feet tall. It does get scary.”

The wind is forcing the tumbleweeds to blow until they are blocked off by something. Which has been a house in many instances. Additionally, some residents had to use back entrances or their garages to exit their homes.

Because the desert balls (copyright pending on this awesome nickname) are thorny, the stick together. Making them hard to navigate and remove.

In the grand scheme of things, I guess it’s not the worst thing that could invade your neighborhood. But, it is definitely inconvenient and has caused some damage.
