Tyler Rich Talks To Good Day Sacramento About His Role In Saving Thomas The Puppy

By Admin on March 21, 2018

So, if you missed the original story let me fill you in real quick. A couple of weeks ago, a good Samaritan brought an injured puppy into the Bradshaw Animal Shelter. He had a severe head injury believed to be caused by a hammer.

Because of the severity of the injury, the shelter put the call out to Sacramentans for help. There is even a reward up for information that can lead to the identity of whoever hurt the puppy. You can check out the original blog here.

They named the little guy Thomas, because he just keeps chuggin’ along (like the tank engine). But, in order for him to have the best possible life, Thomas needed surgery. And it wasn’t cheap. The Bradshaw Animal Shelter set up a YouCaring page to raise $10,000. And Sacramento and beyond answered the call!

In fact, Yuba City’s own Tyler Rich saw the Instagram post on our account and added it to his own story where he has over 100k followed. He also retweeted us and continued to reach out on social media.

And with his help and the passion of this city, that $10,000 goal was met in JUST 9 HOURS. Thomas had his surgery at UC Davis and is being released back to the shelter tomorrow. He still has a long road ahead of him, but things are looking bright for the little pup.

He is expected to make a full recovery and many people have expressed interest in fostering or adopting him. Even Tyler Rich himself said he’s like to take Thomas home.

Bradshaw Animal Shelter continues to keep everyone in the loop about Thomas’ progress on Facebook. So, if you want to stay up to date make sure you follow them. We will do our best to keep you updated, too.
