I don’t take a lot of selfies.  I mean, look at me!  So finding out that since 2011 259 people have died taking a selfie boggles me.

A study published in the Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care says that India, Russia, the United States and Pakistan were the 4 (in that order) leading countries (a stat you won’t find in their tour packets).

And ladies, breathe a sigh of relief.  72% of the selfie deaths are men.  Yes, statistically women take more selfies than men but men take more risks.  The edge of a cliff, a speeding car, a moving boat, skydiving.  If it’s slightly dangerous some guy will try it.  Eight actually died from trying to get a selfie with a wild animal!  Because some people need it there’s a 2 page guide on the dos and don’ts of taking selfies.  It ends by saying you should not take selfies with dangerous animals, on rooftops or near exposed wires.  Apparently some people aren’t getting the message.
