It breaks my heart to know that there are students who go to school and don’t eat lunch because they can’t afford it. Apparently 8 year old Keoni Ching feels the same way. So he decided to do something about it. Keoni started making these really cool bracelets and selling them for $5. Last Friday he presented a check to his school, Benjamin Franklin Elementary in Vancouver, Washington big enough to wipe out the school’s entire lunch debt. In fact there was enough left over to pay off the lunch debts of six surrounding schools. Can you imagine having that kind of heart, that kind of awareness at age 8? Keoni says he’s happy that he could do something to make his classmates smile.
