Actor Luke Perry, who was a heartthrob in the 90s thanks to the hit TV show 90210 before going onto a successful career as a versatile movie and television actor (including a recent role on Riverdale) has passed away from complications due to a massive stroke he suffered last week.
Just 52 years old, there seems to be little indication of health issues, although in 2015 he had pre-cancerous cells removed following a colonoscopy. Perry altered his diet (nearly cutting out red meat entirely) and went on to become a spokesperson for the Fight Colorectal Cancer campaign.
Perry’s big acting break came on the soap opera Another World but it was 90210 where he shot to fame and stardom starring as “bad boy” Adam McKay.

Country fans will also remember Perry from the great rodeo movie “8 Seconds”, in which he played the late bull rider Lane Frost.
And when he presented the Single Of The Year to Alan Jackson at 1994’s ACM Awards
Perry was reportedly surrounded by family and friends when he died, including his two children, Jack and Sophie. There’s been no word yet on funeral plans.
