American River Still Tainted With Feces, Research Finds

Sorry to be the one to break the news, but the American River is Sacramento is gross. State scientists found an alarming amount of E. coli bacteria in recent water samples, MSN reports. We’re talking at least seven times higher than state and federal standards. And by E. coli we mean feces. Yup, poop. This is largely due to homeless encampments. Despite more bathrooms being installed along the parkway, it appears the problem hasn’t changed.
