A baby deer was rescued from the Carr Fire over the weekend. This devastating fire that has taken six lives (2 firefighters), destroyed over 500 buildings, burned nearly 100 thousand acres and reached into Redding’s city limits, finally got a bit of good news. 1) major progress was made on the fire Sunday 2) a baby deer was saved by a CHP officer from San Francisco. In situations like this fire crews and police are called in from all over the state. On Saturday CHP San Francisco posted this on their twitter page:
City cops in the country! SF CHP deployed to the #CARR fires in Redding. Not sure we know what we’re doing in this pic but baby deer pulled from fires and turned over to rescue org. God speed @CAL_FIRE and all other agencies providing mutual aid. You are truly the Bravest. pic.twitter.com/husveKt7iP
