Blake Shelton Keeps Promise To Meet 8-Year-Old Cancer Survivor
Blake Shelton stayed true to his word and met up with Sammy Hodgett, an 8-year-old cancer survivor who idolizes the country star.

Back in December, Blake Shelton responded to 8-year-old Sammy Hodgett’s request to meet.
Sammy, from Illinois, was diagnosed with Leukemia at a young age. He was in a medically induced coma for six weeks because of his chemotherapy. While Sammy recovered, he listened to Blake’s music to help him power through, reports Taste of Country. In particular, Sammy loves the 2013 hit “Boys ‘Round Here.”
Once Blake heard about Sammy’s story, the country star agreed to meet up, tweeting:

The two met on Feb. 23 at Blake’s concert. Sammy even dressed up for the occasion! He wore his best cowboy boots, and gave Blake a commemorative shirt.
