US Gulf Coast Copes With Aftermath Of Hurricane Isaac

NEW ORLEANS, LA – SEPTEMBER 01: Boxer-great dane mix Felix awaits transport from the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter on September 1, 2012 on the outskirts of New Orleans, Louisiana. The animal shelter has been receiving a large number of dogs and cats who’s owners’ homes were damaged or destroyed by Hurricane Isaac. The Humane Society of the United States is transferring 150 dogs and cats from the shelter to other locations in the U.S., anticipating that more pets rescued from flood affected areas will be arriving in upcoming days.
