Brett Young is about ready to tie the knot to Taylor Mills in just a few weeks. While he’s definitely planning to perform at his wedding, he isn’t quite sure what to serenade his future wife with just yet.

One thing’s for sure, though, Young certainly doesn’t want to sing anything he’s written.

“I feel like it puts you in an interesting position because I’m not gonna sing one of my songs,” Young told Big Machine Label Group. “I feel like that’s a cop out. That’s basically doing what I do for work every night. I’m not gonna sing one of the classic wedding songs that everybody in the world has had in their wedding. And then if I write a song, there’s a 99% chance that I’m gonna write some cheesy crap, because trying to write a wedding song is like you set yourself up to fail.”

As it turns out, though, the “Mercy” singer originally didn’t want to perform for his ceremony at all! He only came around after realizing that Mills likely wants him to sing at least one song.

Regardless of what he chooses, we’re sure he’s going to absolutely kill it!
