Four brothers went missing last week in a remote part of Alaska.  Christopher, age 14, Frank, age 8, Ethan, age 7 and Trey, age 2 headed out for a short snow mobile ride.  They were due home at 1pm.  The never showed up.  Before we judge the parents for letting a 2 year old go know two things.  One, they had done this before successfully.  Two, the weather was clear when they left.  On their way a blizzard hit.  The boys became lost and then stuck.  They were missing for over 24 hours when a rescue team spotted what they thought was one of the boys.  As they got near the rescuers could tell that is was more than one of the brothers.  They found all four bundled up around a hole they had dug in a drift.  The oldest was laying on top of the 2 year old.  The 8 year old was laying in such a way as to cover the draft.  The 7 year old laying above them blocking the wind.  The three older brothers were completely protecting the baby.

The Coast Guard air lifted all of the boys to the hospital.  The 7 year old was treated for severe hypothermia and kept.  Two of the other brothers, including the 2 year old, were treated and released.  The remaining brother was kept for further treatment.  One of the rescuers said, “The will to survive in these boys is amazing.  I’ve never seen anything like it.”
