HA! It’s safe to say that this is not a list you want to be high on. But alas, California landed in the top five for states with the most psychopaths. Perhaps unsurprisingly, Washington D.C. came in at number one. Then, Connecticut, California, New Jersey, and a tie of New York and Wyoming for fifth.

Now, it’s important to note that this study hasn’t been full peer reviewed yet. In order to get results, five personality traits were examined: agreeableness, extroversion, openness, conscientiousness and neuroticism.

The author of the study told the Miami Herald, “psychopaths are likely to be effective in the political sphere” and could be tempted to work in the “literal seat of power.” Makes sense to me.

If you want to live somewhere with less psychopaths, check out West Virginia, Vermont, Tennessee, North Carolina, and New Mexico.
