Calling All Cat People—Bradshaw Animal Shelter No Longer Accepting Cats Because They’re Over Capacity

You can never have too many cats, right? Okay, like five is probably the limit. So, if you like cats and don’t have five, it’s time to adopt more! The Bradshaw Animal Shelter needs people to foster or adopt because they are way over capacity.

Communication & Media Officer (and all around badass) Janna Hayes says they have over 337 cats in house currently. Now many of these are feral and are awaiting surgery so they can be returned to the field.  But as you can guess, especially if you’ve ever seen “Hoarders,” housing this many cats is potentially dangerous to the cats, staff and volunteers.

Additionally, the shelter is not able to accept strays or surrenders currently because of the overpopulation. So, if you can house a friendly cat, that will make more room to hold the feral cats until they recover from surgery.
