Central Coast Wine Country Town Offering $$ For Tourists To Visit

San Luis Obispo is offering people $100 cash to visit. No joke. The city’s tourism board is doing it to boost visits during slow winter months. The first 750 who books at least 2 nights at a participating hotel between now and March 31 is promised the money. The only date exceptions are this weekend (MLK holiday) and Valentine’s weekend.

According to Lonely Planet, over 40 properties are part of the deal, from bed and breakfasts all the way up to national hotel chains.

Anyone who’s been to SLO knows what a great little town it is, and it’s close to the coast and dozens of wineries. If you’re interested (and I am), click this link to the SLO tourism website to find out more.
