A few weeks ago, Sacramento International Airport announced plans to enhance security checks several, requiring passengers to place all electronic devices bigger than a cell phone into a plastic bin to run through scanning machines.
Airport spokeswoman Laurie Slothower told Sac Bee that these new changes have caused bottlenecks at the TSA checkpoint in Terminal A that will probably become even more troublesome as the holidays get closer.
Just this morning, 93 passengers missed their flights at SMF due to long waits in the security lines. In fact, some people have reported waiting up to 48 minutes to pass through security.
If you are traveling later in the day, that might help reduce the congestions, as the problem is mainly in Terminal A between 5:00 and 6:30 AM.
