Chase Rice has responded to criticism he received for playing a concert Saturday night in Tennessee for thousands of fans. In video taken at the concert, there were very few audience members wearing masks and virtually no social distancing.

In a statement yesterday on his Instagram account, Rice said he understands the blow-back, which included Kelsea Ballerini calling him “selfish”, and said that in the future, fan safety will be paramount. “You guys are everything to me. The safer we are now, the quicker we get to get to actual normal live shows, which I know we all want. Please go by the rules, please go by the laws.” You can see the full video, here

Rice’s next show is July 3rd in Ashland, Kentucky and will be a drive-in format, something more artists are looking at doing as an end-around to Covid fears.
