Just in time for 2019 weddings, Dan + Shay have released acoustic versions of their hit songs, “Speechless” and “Tequila”.

According to The Boot, the duo’s most recent No. 1, “Speechless”, comes from a personal place for both Dan and Shay. The music video for the song even includes footage from Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney’s real-life weddings.

After much pleading from their fans to record a stripped down version, the pair decided to produce an acoustic version of their hit ballad. This simpler arrangement of the song would allow fans to use it in their own wedding ceremonies.

This acoustic version was reportedly released after the single version hit No. 1 on country radio. As a celebration and thank you to fans, Dan + Shay also shared an acoustic version of their No. 1 hit, “Tequila.” In a statement announcing the release, the group said: “We noticed a lot of you wanting an acoustic version of speechless for weddings, so we recorded one. And we recorded Tequila. Since Speechless is #1 at country radio, and tomorrow is the one-year anniversary of Tequila, we thought midnight might be a good time to drop both.”
