Devin Dawson Co-wrote Country’s #1 Song But Still Can’t Get Recognized
Apparently he’s still a bit of a “dark horse”

We know singer/songwriter Devin Dawson because he grew up around here–you know the story, Orangevale resident, Casa Roble grad.
But do you know the actor Charles Esten? He played country singer Deacon Claybourne on the TV show Nashville and he is actually a country music fan (he even has his own band) but until last week, he had no idea who Devin is.
He was at a charity event last week in Nashville and Blake Shelton was onstage performing “God’s Country”. Esten loves the song so much, he apparently couldn’t contain himself …
Watching @blakeshelton sing this @musiciansoncall Honors @CMATheater, I couldn’t help but turn to @zdevin behind me to say,”Man, I love this damn song!” He just smiled. A minute or 2 later he tapped my shoulder and sheepishly said “I co-wrote it.” I was blown away. HAD NO IDEA!🙌🏻 https://t.co/BhdzOCnI9T

Pretty funny moment for both of them and it goes to show, Devin is still a bit of a “dark horse” (but likely isn’t going to be much longer)
