Dimple Records to Close All Stores

Wow! It’s truly an end of an era. If you’ve been in Sacramento for awhile, you know the store was so well known for selling CDs, movies, and books. But that will happen no longer! My favorite location was the Dimple Records AND Dimple Bookstore in the Arden area.  The owner of all locations has decided he will be closing all the stores due to declining music sales amid a changing music industry. There is no set date for the closing of all the stores, however they have started a “store closing” sale effective today.

A family-run, Sacramento-area record store is closing its doors. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Dimple Records is going out of business, spokesperson Andrew Radakovitz said Tuesday. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Liquidation sales begin Wednesday, but there is no firm closing date. Radakovitz said it could take months for all the inventory to sell. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Dimple was founded by John and Dilyn Radakovitz in 1974 and has remained in the family. Their son, Andrew Radakovitz, said his parents are retiring. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ He also said declining sales, particularly the decrease of DVD sales, are among the reasons Dimple is closing. Andrew Radakovitz said vinyl sales were up and CD sales were doing OK. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #sacramento #Dimple #DimpleRecords #recordstore #music #movies #sacramentolife #vinyl #news #closing
