For the first time in 63 years you’ll be able to buy an alcoholic beverage at Disneyland.  When the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge expansion opens next summer, a tavern called Oga’s Cantina will offer up libations for adults.

Remember the bar scene from Star Wars?  Well that’s Oga’s Cantina! Besides stormtroppers, bounty hunters, smugglers and aliens, deadline.com says the Cantina will offer beer, wine and outer space cocktails.

You can get an adult beverage at the adjacent California Adventure.  But besides the private Club 33, this is the first time since its opening that Disneyland has offered alcohol.

Why the change?  Disneyland spokeswoman Liz Jaeger told the latimes.com that “just as our theme parks have evolved since Disneyland opened, so have our guests desires.”

A cold craft beer or two over a sit down with Chewbacca?  What could be better?

Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens next summer.  In case you can’t wait, here’s the Star Wars bar scene!
