Dolly Parton Streams Soar After Netflix’s ‘Dumplin’ Premieres

Netflix’s latest original film Dumplin’ was released almost 2 weeks ago, and it’s already a hit! The story follows an overweight teenage girl who idolizes Dolly Parton and enters a beauty pageant with her friends to prove a point. It’s cheesy, don’t get me wrong, but really cute and worth the hour and a half.

The best part? Not only is Netflix seeing success with streams, so is Dolly! Her music received a huge streaming spike. A 132% increase from last month! The movie’s soundtrack, which Dolly recorded 6 new songs for, also jumped 33% since the movie’s debut.
