This Good Stuff story will break your heart at 1st, but thanks to the internet, it’ll be mended by the end. Tony Williams, a 75-year-old British man, isn’t asking for much. He just wants a friend. He’s grieving the loss of his wife, Jo, who died in May. The retired physicist has neither children nor other family to visit and says he’s gone days without talking to anyone. His wife was his best friend, whom he had a great relationship with, so being alone is especially hard for him.

Williams was feeling desperate and took out two ad in his community newspaper looking for a friend…and didn’t receive a single response. So he put a sign in his window that read: “I have lost Jo. My lovely wife and soulmate. I have no family or friends. I find the silence 24 hours a day unbearable torture. Can no one help me?” When asked about the sign, he said “I’m not looking for someone to listen to me cry. I just want a normal person who I can chat to! I can talk to anybody about anything.” Since his story got out and people began posting pics of the sign to social media, he’s received an overwhelming response! He won’t be lonely soon.
