In typical Ellen DeGeneres fashion, the talk show host couldn’t resist the chance to scare Kacey Musgraves.

As the latest guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the country singer started talking about odd jobs she held when she was younger. One included dressing up as Hannah Montana, reports Taste of Country.

“I performed as Hannah Montana at birthday parties,” Musgraves said. “That was a short brief stint. It didn’t go that well. I got paid in change.”

Of course, shortly after mentioning the gig, a guy dressed in a Hannah Montana wig jumps out, giving Musgraves quite the scare. So much so, that she has to stand for a minute and process what happened.
