Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are facing a copyright lawsuit over their track, “The Rest of Our Life.”
Songwriters Sean Carey and Beau Golden are suing as they believe the track in question is a ripoff of their song “When I Found You.” Jasmine Rae performs the song.
The lawsuit also affects Ed Sheeran, who co-wrote the song with Amy Wadge, Johnny McDaid and Steve McCutcheon. The lawsuit also names Sony/ATV, Universal Polygram and WB Music. Nash Country Daily reports the lawsuit asks for $5 million in damages. It also requests profits, a running royalty, and attorney’s fees.
