Ford Recalls Two Million F-150 Trucks Because Of Fire Risk

Rut roh. If you have a Ford F-150 series truck, you might want to check into this. Ford is recalling two million of the trucks due to a fire risk. The recall includes 2015 – 2018 models of the Ford F-150 pickup truck.
According to KCRA, the seat belts in the trucks can somehow cause a fire. And by somehow, I mean that apparently the “seat belt pretensioners can generate excessive sparks when they tighten the belts before a crash. That can ignite gases inside a support beam and cause insulation and carpet to catch fire,” per KCRA.
To decrease the risk, Ford dealers will remove insulation and install heat-resistant tape. If your truck is affected, you should get a notification beginning Sept. 24. So far, 23 reports of smoke or fire have been recorded. Three trucks have been destroyed by fire. However, there haven’t been any injuries yet, thankfully.
