Congratulations to Ocean Springs High school senior Kaylee Foster. During half time of the school’s Friday night football game down in Mississippi, she was named homecoming queen. And she posed for photos with her flower and crown, like any good homecoming queen would do.

But then, she had to go. Because the 2nd half was starting and Kaylee is the football team’s kicker.

She’d already scored two field goals that night and as the game was ending and down 12-6, her team scored on a 29 yard pass!

To seal the win, they needed the extra point, otherwise the game was going into overtime.

No worries. She split the uprights and as far as anyone knows that’s the first time a homecoming queen ever won the game, too.

Asked afterward if she had any idea how the night would turn out…she said she was more sure about making that extra point than she ever was about being named homecoming queen. Kaylee’s confidence is well-placed, by the way: she’s a three sports-star: not only football but track and soccer too. And she’s got offers to kick in college too…either football or soccer. Or heck, maybe both there, too.

However, Kaylee, in an interview with the Mississippi Press on Sunday, she said her favorite moment of the night actually came over the weekend, when she heard about nine-year old girl who saw what Kaylee had done and said “That’s the kind of girl I want to be”.
