How Scotty McCreery’s Fast Ball Helped Lead Him To Country Music

(Or lack of…)

Scotty McCreery wasn’t a bad pitcher in high school. In fact, his senior year, he struck out 55 and only walked 4. Not a bad stat line at all. But, any dreams of playing ball into college kind of ground to a halt when he won American Idol. 

And, as he told us backstage before performing at KNCI’s latest Nashville in the Neighborhood, his coach’s words also helped him realize that music was probably the best path going forward. Sometimes it’s best to just hear the cold, hard truth.
