Jason Aldean’s latest song with Miranda Lambert, “Drowns the Whiskey” is climbing up the charts. But, it almost wasn’t even recorded by the two at all. In fact, Jason was working with Tyler Farr when he first heard the track and wanted him to record it!

“I was actually producing some sides on Tyler Farr, a couple years back. And it was a song that I actually wanted to record on him. We ended up not recording it on him. And so, I told him if he didn’t cut it, I was gonna cut it. So I did,” Jason Aldean told ABC News Radio.

Clearly Tyler Farr decided not to record the song, and true to his word, Jason did. While it wasn’t written to be a duet, he thought adding Miranda Lambert to the mix would be a perfect fit.  “…it’s a little more on the traditional side, which she tends to lean toward a little bit. So I sent it, and she jumped on it, and came in, and you heard the rest.”

What do you think? Are you happy Jason kept the song or would you rather have heard Tyler Farr’s take on it?
