That’s big news for Jason Aldean! Not only is his new album “Rearview Town” his 4th #1 album release, the album also made it’s debut at the top of the Billboard 200 chart in the number 1 spot, which made it the first country album to do so in 2018.

The album “Rearview Town” came out just over a week ago on April 13, and it quickly shot up the ranks to the #1 position on Billboard’s Hot 200 albums list. For a country album to beat out all those pop and rock records – that’s saying something. Jason Aldean is no stranger to having his albums up top though – he’s a seriously talented artist and his last 3 albums all made the top of the list as well. “Night Train” in 2012, “Old Boots” in 2014, and “New Dirt” in 2016 all made their debut at number 1. Four albums in a row to pop onto the list at #1 right after release – awesome! It’s also the first country album to hit the top in 2018, which is another pretty awesome claim Jason can add to his resume.

If you’re interested in number of albums sold in its first week, well the answer is about 162,000 physical copies, but the “equivalent” of 180,000 albums from the 20-something million streams the album got as well. Substantial numbers – all within the first week. This is also Jason’s first album since that attack on the country show – as Jason was performing – in Las Vegas back in October. The album certainly carries some weight with it based on that. That certainly doesn’t mean that’s why it’s in the #1 spot though – Jason is just a seriously talented artist who rightfully earned his spot up top. Check out a little more on the chart here.
