Kelly Clarkson Headlining Performer For 50th Anniversary U.S. Open

Kelly Clarkson has been chosen as the headlining performer for the 2018 U.S. Open. The sporting event is hitting it’s 50th anniversary this year!

Kelly Clarkson has been chosen as the headlining performer for the 2018 U.S. Open. The sporting event is hitting it’s 50th anniversary this year!

Clarkson will be hitting the stage on August 27 at Arthur Ashe Stadium  in New York for the opening ceremony. As this year’s event is a huge milestone, you can expect a spectacular show. The ceremony will have guest appearances by previous U.S. Open champions and other surprise guests.

“We are honored to have such a talented performer join us in this very special year. Kelly Clarkson’s musical versatility, her unparalleled presence and of course her voice, will make this a night to remember,” chairperson of the U.S. Open and president and CEO of USTA Katrina Adams said in a press release.

As Taste of Country states, the U.S. Open is one of the oldest tennis tournaments in the world. It’s seen the likes of Venus and Serena Williams, Rafaela Nadal, and Sloane Stephens, among others.
