Kim Kardashian In Hot Water For Promoting Appetite Suppressing Lollipops
By Admin on May 16, 2018
I RARELY write anything about Kim Kardashian or the Kardashian clan. But, this is just too ridiculous not to speak up about. Kim is under fire for posting an ad on Instagram for an appetite suppressing lollipop from Flat Tummy Co.
She has since removed the original posts, but the ad remains in her Instagram story feed.
Kim Kardashian promoting appetite suppressants. Does she have absolutely no shame? This is incredibly damaging and dangerous. pic.twitter.com/thFTNoCjYA

The woman makes an insane amount of cash on ads like this. And seeing as she has the most followers on Instagram, what she endorses bears weight (pun intended). There are literally millions of girls looking up to her and trusting her opinion.
Body image issues are way too frequent, especially these days where social media is everywhere. I can’t even imagine going through middle and high school with an Instagram account.
So, while some people probably support Kim Kardashian and her choice to promote anything from Flat Tummy Co, others are speaking out.
Instagram is making us insecure. We're all bombarded with images of unattainable lifestyle and beauty. It is known that when you are insecure, you are easier to influence. This web of psychology is what makes Kim Kardashian's promotion of appetite suppressants so alarming.

I guess what bothers me most about the whole thing, is you know these lollipops don’t work. They probably aren’t safe, and it’s sending a message that people need to not eat. And they need a quick fix.
Also, we know Kim Kardashian has a trainer, can afford a chef, and isn’t relying on these appetite suppressing lollipops for anything other than the money.
Maybe it’s just me though. What do you think of Kim, or anyone really, promoting the product? She obviously doesn’t fully support it since she took the ad down…
I know, I know. I am just keeping her in the news. But dangit, I just want her to learn the gravity of her influencer status.
